Had a quick look around snaigill low level yesterday afternoon whilst out looking for caves.

Cant find much info on here and dunhams records are patchy.

The level we entered looked as if some small falls had been dug away to let some water out but after 200m or so there was a larger fall backing up the water to an uncomfortable depth.

Unfortunately lack of wet gear stopped us going any further but there was signs of footprints going off into the water.

Has the water been left at that height as discouragement or has it not been fully 'checked'?

I went in there a few years ago now, pretty much got to the same point you did and had a poke at the collapse to try and lower the water level.

Raced the rising water to the entrance, said we would go back later, never did.

There suppose to be a rise from Deputation Level in there, but i've seen comments that the location is blocked by falls and deep water.

More than welcome Old Bean. :thumbup:

Last time I was in there was about 12 years ago with Alex Fitzsimmons. Air temp was about -5 when we came out, we could hardly move, it was so cold. Jumped in the car without getting changed and got the hell outta there.

Mark - the flu's on the mend - slowly - might be ok for some gentle gardening tomorrow ;)
