I thought one or to of you may not have looked at the NAHMO website these are a list of talks in two independent rooms you will see there is a very varied and full programme. You can book in for just one day otherwise we still have some cheap accommodation available and there are still vacancies on field and underground trips. We are still taking bookings but don't leave it much longer

It's been an excellent conference, and I think all of us on this site who've been there would agree a great time was had by all. I did talks yesterday, and a cracking SRT trip into Huglith mine today. There are currently no photos of this mine on here at the moment which is a shame as there are some very photogenic bits, but Roy's going back for the return trip mideweek and was talking about taking his camera...

Adam it was indeed a brill conference and the surface stuff I did was ace. It was busy all the time and good lectures. I did Huglith surface walk on Sunday... that is some stope!!!! 😮

The main stope at Huglith is even more impressive when you're doing a walking abseil down the footwall through the stemples. The stope off Badger level is also quite a big one, with some nice timbering holding up lots of rocks....

It's a great idea, though. When I forget the name of someone I have been speaking to this helps no end!

I only attended one talk, by some bloke from Great Wyrley rambling about some pretty desperate digging he's done.

Underground trips were great, and I managed to put some more names to beards and re-acquaint myself with other beards.

There was no recording done. Proceedings might be published. My presentation was a self-running PowerPoint A/V: so it had a pre-recorded commentary complete with music tracks and sound effects! This meant that the only thing I had to do was to introduce it, and answer a handful of questions.

One advantage of doing this is that when someone asks how long the talk is, I can tell them to the nearest second. 🙂

Roy suggested we should have website usernames on our badges to assist recognition! He also had a particularly evil idea for a trick to play on someone regarding this but I'll let him tell you all what it was....

Cracking conference - one of the best - my beard and I had a splendid time.

As usual I was left wishing that I could pack more in.

The choice of venue was excellent. It was particularly pleasant, as a camper, to be able to take a bath.

For me the highlight was Monday's winch trip into the 40 yard level in Snailbeach. Some phenomenal stoping.

The firesetting presentation was a good 'un. The local tikes tried firesetting in Godstone in the 1950s - setting fire to a pile of old tyres. There is plenty of soot there to sample!

Some proceedings or videos would be nice to see. Especially for those unfortunate ones like myself who couldn't make it (well hopefully next time). Hoping some more pics are posted aswell

I had the squeaky fanbelt, just to confirm your suspicion.

My presentation went well and we got some good debate! Not automatic... but nevertheless exactly 50 mins long.... (I do alot for work) ::)
I enjoyed the Spanish Mines talk and also the Nth Lincs Ironstone talk, both were great. :thumbup:

I am just back from it all, slept at home last night but got up early and did Hugglith again with camera.
I only live about 45 minutes away.

My best trip was Snailbeach and out by the 'scenic route', not for the fainthearted.

Yes, and my NAMHO joke was the little name plates we all wore with our names and a club name.
