Probably a bit quieter than usual. A combination perhaps of summer (ha!) and the general state of the country?

That said there an awful lot of photographs appearing on here at present, both modern day exploration and excellent archive photos, and occassionally a thread pops up that proves everybody is still here

However would be good to hear more news, events, gear reviews, trip reports etc. from all over the country :flowers:

Well I fear that some of the members of this forum might have been taking things just a bit too easy of late....

Dear RJV in response to your picture... It had been a long day and I fancied a rest (lying down exploration will not catch on I fear!!! )... plus there was a dark hole to put my head down Ostrich style... trouble was that when looking down said hole all I found was an ugly bunch of termites scurrying around the basement 😉

PS Still enjoyed the Saving Private Ryan moment... sat backs against the wall while the Tigers... sorry Tractors rumbled by... wish we had had the detonator tho!! ::)

I have been to Coniston slate mine last Sunday while on a family holiday with our caravan. It rained all day just as it does in Ffestiniog. And the roads are just as bad, but it was very enjoyable all the same. Well worth the effort.
It is on the agenda to go up to Cumbria again soon.

I don't know about other mine (and quarry) exploration sites but Aditnow is rather like an iceberg or a swan...75% is below the surface...and at time there is some furious paddling... but it's beautiful and elegant.............

You are right... there might not have been much discussion of late but there have been some great photos up loaded from quite a few new sources... plus some crackers from regulars...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh Creeper!!!!!

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
