It's very quiet on here, is everybody either lost down a mine or out sun bathing (or somethig equally unhealthy)
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Nah - just bogged down in (real) work. Back soon. (I'm colouring my croesor plan as an experiment, following the style intended for Oakeley's diagrams...

I've spent many a long while colouring Graham's plans, too 😉

Same problem here, lots of real work to get through, seems every body wants there stuff back in a hurry, currently taking in work for August now, so should'nt complain really.

Anyways will have a good 😉 trip coming up Friday night/Sat morning, over this way trying to make a connection through two old mines that has been lost recently due to some very bad ground. Should be fun if not a little wet in places.. 😉
The management thanks you for your co operation.

Ah, but did you get to see anything "interesting" underground over there? Caught the TT on ITV4 - same as last year, I'm afraid. Perhaps the races were too much of a distraction ....?

No, didn't get to see anything mines wise (for the 2nd year running!)
Happily Saturday's racing was postponed due to weather so I got to see all 4 days racing which only left two free days.
Mad Sunday was spent on abortive atempts to get over the mountain, it was closed 4 times due to muppets falling off bikes and crashing cars, ended up shut for most of the day. Thursday was spent actually getting to play on the mountain 😉
May head for the Manx GP instead next time and stay a day or two longer, I did notice lots of interesting reamins over Glen Rushen way but didn't get time for a closer look.
I may even take a nose over there simply for the mines, its reasonably cheap to go when there is no racing on as opposed to the Steam Racket banditry during TT fortnight!

Hi Jagman,

Better luck next time. Glen Rushen still has loads of surface remains and if you're OK with walking through the boggy heather, you'll be able to poke around the sites of three mines along the Foxdale vein and all within a mile or so of each other.
Heartening to note that piracy is still active on the Irish Sea, nothing changes .... including 'Mad Sunday'.

Have not been underground a lot recently as we are quite buisy at work. The classic car shows have started, and believe it or not i have started cycling the single tracks at Coed y Brenin which is quite addictive. And helps me lose weight.
We have also had a young yellow dog which has chewed my trainers and my daughter's hair straightners.
But have been thinking of a weekend of underground exploration somewhere in Cumbria sometime this year.

Just got back this AM from working the week in Sri Lanka... sadly didn't make it up to the Gem pits/mines but got to do some serious thrash with Sri lankan Railways on M9 and M8 Diesel Electric locos out of Columbo and Maradana depot  !
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh Creeper!!!!!

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
