A new event has been added to the Events page.

Event name: Smallcleugh - Off The Tourist Route

Date & time: 02/06/2013 at 10:30

Details: As part of the Nenthead Mines Conservation Society's season of events, there will be:
A potter round Smallcleugh to investigate all those places that people normally charge straight past on their way to the Ballroom or more 'exciting' locations.
Not unduly wet, some places can get over the standard welly but you don't need to go there. It does get a bit mucky so I don't recommend a light linen suit for this trip.
Route will depend on abilities and interests of those coming and how things go at the time.
No SRT, though you can carry the gear if it makes you happy!

Just to remind people about this trip...

The trip to Smallcleugh (or my shed as it has been called) is still on.
The snow has pretty much all gone and it is now (usually) warmer outside than in!

All are welcome, whether you want to stand around taking photogravures using your revolutionary glass plate camera with magnesium flash powder or just like talking to the stones of which there are plenty in Smallcleugh, though the language of some is shocking.

See you there...

Don't look so embarrassed, it's a family trait...

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
