I shall get onto trying to sort out the camping tomorrow.

Based on what people have said it looks like the following will be the best options:

1, Bull i'th Thorn
2, Lathkill Dale Campsite

How many pitches?

christwigg x 1
joydivisionovengloves - camping?
lab rat x 1
Lister x 1
markc x 1
RichardLevett x 1
RJV x 1
RockChick x 1
simonrl x1

Is that everybody who is camping? And if you're not please let me know ta 😉

Plus

droid x1

And I forgot Edd as well 😮

Have spoken to the Bull i'th' Thorn and they've got space but have a young farmers event on that night - 250 of them in the barn. Might be a bit noisy.

Do you want me to try elsewhere?

Oh yes.
250 bellowing buffoons isn't really my idea of a weekend away!

AARGH I've double booked myself and will have to cancel! I'm sure you'll all be bitterly disappointed.

Agreed!

OK, Lathkill Dale camping seems pricey "Tiny tents start at £5 a night single berth, 2 - 5 berths from £15 - £21"

Will try Adam's suggestion of Knotlow Farm - looks about a mile and a half from the nearest pub.

Or, as suggested previously, The Miners standars, about 50 yards from the pub.... 🙂

I missed that one. Looks perfect, sensible prices, and a pub

Camping at The Miners Standard

9 pitches booked for the night of the 21st May.

If anybody needs an extra night (e.g. stopping over the Friday) or anybody else wants a pitch just drop me a line by PM.

I've booked for:

christwigg x 1
lab rat x 1
Lister x 1
markc x 1
RJV x 1
RockChick x 1
simonrl x1
Edd x 1
Droid x 1

From the sounds of it space won't be a problem, so if we need a few extra pitches it'll be easy enough to arrange.

http://theminersstandard.com/food.html  looks good.

They also do breakfast if you order it the night before 😎

Roll on the Derbyshire weekend 😉

I'll post more details of the weekend early next week; where we're meeting up on the Saturday AM, etc.

I'd best also post a summary of the trips as well. Saturday sounds interesting. Sunday sounds even more interesting.

SRT kit will be provided and there'll be some big drops on Sunday, although the actual trip can be customised a bit and there's plenty of other options in the area if people (i.e. me!) opt for something gentler...

Woo should be a good weekend 🙂 Let shope the weather is nice to us.

We also need to make sure that we check the exit to Youds before heading up to the quarry as the locals seem to like putting a bench on it

Which presumably means you have to turn around, face the spiders, rats and sewage again. The coffin level, two squeezes/sumps, downclimb a stope and then ascend 45 metres out?

Yes... checking the exit sounds a good idea to me

Does this mean Vanoord's barbeque won't be attending? 😢
