A fairly grey miserable day in Redcar with the occasional bit of drizzle slowly eating away at the snow.

Suspect that the biggest problem tomorrow will be ice on the roads rather than impassable snow drifts but hopefully the gritters will have been out.

We're coming up in Tonys Turbo Saab now, they are made for the snow so we're sure to be fine.

(please stop if you see a burning Saab on it roof in a snow drift)

Not quite a Range Rover, but there's a 4x4 scuby pick-up on my drive that you could borrow

Just needs a new alternator, battery and all new electrics

Rockchick to the rescue 🙂

Will see you all tomorrow, spoken to Rich, and I think we'll arrive around 10 to 10.30 🙂

So all the beloved Landrovers are broken and you're coming up in a Nissan Micra ?

I'm going to be there early to capture that beautiful moment on video.

Hey, don't knock it! Rockchick's Micra does one thing my Disco and Spencer's Defender aren't currently doing... and that's working properly

Not knocking it at all, I used to have one myself.
Drove it 120K and it never let me down once.

My Land Rover's working!

But unfortunately it seems I wont be able to make it...
My brother (who I haven't seen since last Christmas) called to say he's passing by town tomorrow, so I'd best be home...

Have a good trip and have a beer for me :flowers:

Just to keep the record straight, an elderly leaf sprung landrover did in fact make it, not only there, but home again, without the need of the BYT. Cracking day for the benefit of those who couldnt shake off the turkey, leave the fireside, etc. Thanks to all who turned up and made the 'event' memorable

Photos anyone????

you can't wear out a Land Rover - it is never out of the workshop long enough!

just had three months driving round Russian forestry roads in a PROPER 4x4..

Thanks to Redwinch for some outstanding information, and egging me on to climb the lovely Polypropelyene rope supported ladder first! And thanks to the rest for some great company, except for a certain John who was responsable for a 30 min wetsuit clad wait in the snow outside Capplecleugh 😉

Funnily enough we have a Polish geologist at work who spent most of his working life in opencasts who thinks Land Rover's were sent directly from heaven.
When their Russian motors were replaced with Land Rovers life becamefar more pleasant apparently.
