Does anyone know anything about this unusual little site ?

Had a quick scan through Fairburns British Mining 77 and Dunham and couldn't spot anything about it.

A bridge has been put over the beck and passage dug with a flooded drainage level just inches below that breaks through an various points.

Upper level is about 25m, the lower level seems to continue further and has rails, but is sumped to the roof.

Any further information would be appreciated, assuming its a lead trial as its in lead country.

Nothing in the Mines of Upper Teesdale Edition 2 either, although it is close to the Flushiemere Sett, which does get more than a passing mention.

I had a look in here last year, the lower level looks doable with a wetsuit, strange how it's so close to the 'upper' level.

No, I was ready to strip down to my wabs & go for it but you could just see that it was sumped just a couple yards beyond the forehead of the workings above the level.

It would be easy enough to siphon with some flexi-tube.

True enough, I heard the rumour that you could suck a golf ball through a hosepipe.

We'll have to pencil it in as an evening trip for the summer if you fancy it ?

Sounds good, bring your anti-midge spray as they can be horrendous in those woods, we know you Middlesbrough folk aren't used to experience wildlife.

I can see what happened to the one we were using, but you would have to be fairly well motivated to take it far "off road".

Heres the video, stand on your head.
The air gap there is about the width of my camera.

I should think 100M of flexy pipe and two portable pumps will do the job. We have new buddies.......

Sorry, just watched the video. We don't need pumps we need JCam on the job - he loves low airspace stuff like that.
