Could Trialing be done in a smaller rectangle piece of stone Sandstone/Limestone once the vein is found?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

You do a trial, that produces the vein, you follow the vein, using adit, shaft, stope, etc.

Once you've found the vein, you've no real need to carry on with the trial - the vein either looks (or assayed) good enough to continue with properly, or it isn't

I am also sadly confused from how you have said the question, do you mean you have a peace of stone from a open mine you have been in ? You want to see if it’s good enough quality for the mine to carry on following the vein ? When you are next online try ask your question in more detail and you shall get much more response

Thanks that's very helpful.
My intention is to take larger amounts from a block without overdooing the cut into the stone that would be needed to be shaped. I assume there are different sizes of adit, shaft and stope to make this possible on a figure scale as well as in quarrying scale?

I am guessing he is going to build a model of a quarry with a mine or a model of inside a mine all in 1 solid block

As I understand this mining term, it used when assessing whether it is worthwhile financially, to proceed with spending lots of money on opening a mine!
Normally trialling can take place by the careful analysis of the metals present in the considered area, or if it is a quarry then trialling might carried out to assess the quality of the stone to be processed!
in either case you must have a pretty good idea of the quantity of material available for processing!

Very different pages here now boys I am wondering about sculpting in Sandstone whereas are you enthusiasts of going into dark and dingy mines? Does the lack of padlocks in Cwmystwyth mean you bypass the expecive quarry fee's?

Ahh I see now I understand yes this is a website where people actually explore mines , I am sure you can still get a lot of help with your project , you need to state exactly what you plan on sculpting before you will receive the answers you wish to find , try and start again in a lot more detail what is it you are doing and what do you need help with , also if it is a exact place you are trying to replicate name that also you might get some history and more information :thumbsup:

Access should be free, (i.e. open) in places where there is no need for any other arrangement. Through a trust, I indirectly own Cwmystwyth mines, hence the insider joke.

You'd do well writing documentation for our outfit, needs more acronyms though.....

As regards trials, tell them the bare minimum, if they don't know your name they don't know what you done....
