We bought our Benjo at a poorly run auction about 20 years ago. Rock Services, a Stoke drilling and grouting company went bust and their whole yard full of old cr*p was sold off.
We thought we were bidding on a ventilation fan (so did everyone else too) but when we collected our ticket numbered item, it turned out to be the Paddy's motorbike.
Still, it was only 20 quid and virtually new.

To keep you up to date.......our NMCS volunteer team have now moved our Eimco indoors. Had to be towed downhill by Defender leading and Range Rover braking. See story and pictures on our website at www.nentheadmines.com/news.
We are missing one wheel nut......anyone happen to have a spare hiding in their toolbox?

Did you ever manage to get a copy of the manual?
If not, I have a good original one that can be scanned or photocopied. It came from a chap in Camborne who used to work at Crofty (Rob Needham got his copy from me).
Colin.

There is only one that I know of still working in the north pennines and that is this one, employed driving tunnel at Rogerley Mine.

Well, it wasn't working for a bit this summer, we had to rebuild the gearbox after a couple of bearings collapsed. Three weeks in total to do the work, but once we got into it, we were surprised to find that the bearings were still available over the counter:)

Are the one's at Holman's still being used by CSM? Tracked and trackless? Had my training on them in 98.

We do have a scan of a version of the operating manual. It is pretty limited on servicing, having more on operating procedures than maintenance so any information on that would be helpful.
Don't look so embarrassed, it's a family trait...

Pete - do you have dimensions for the wheel nut?

may be possible to source or manufacture.

Peter,
Seeing gNick's post below, it sounds like what you already have is what I've got. It has about 32 pages from memory and is mainly an operating manual as opposed to a servicing manual.
Best wishes, Colin.

About 3" AF Dome Nut. Almost certainly not an off the shelf item. Getting one made is an option, I've got a big enough lathe after all, it is quicker and easier to beg borrow or buy one though. 🙂

Our volunteer team have now started work on conserving our Eimco 12-B serial number not known.
We have a Parts List for 12-B serial number 1631. The Parts List came from Coldberry Mine in 1965 and I assume that 1631 was at Coldberry. Does anyone know whether 1631 is still around?
