I sent an email a while ago but never got a reply, struck me as a very cool thing indeed to have on your desk...

I know Mr Carn Metals, perhaps I will drop him a message and see what I get.....
If it can't be grown it has to be mined.

would be a very cool thing to have as a paperweight, n'est-ce pas?

I have a silver drilling rig model, which is a real conversation stopper....

I kept my old Wild T2 when I stopped using it for work, mainly because I couldn't get anything for it anyway.. eventually I bought a glass bell cover which probably originally contained those Victorian stuffed birds and mounted it in that.

I had it in my office when I was in S Wales but I haven't had the room, or been long enough in one place, since.

This is something made by one of my now retired customers. I did find a company who expressed an interest in continuing to produce this but I'm not sure it progressed. I'll see what I can find out tomorrow. I can confirm it was a great object but likely to be fairly expensive with limited demand, obviously could have quite a bit of interest from the regulars here.

OK I've checked with the company and with the original maker. Unfortunately the right to produce this was purchased by the company but having looked at it and considered what it involved they have no interest in producing it. So unfortunately no more will be produced.

I will modify that web page which I have to admit this is in a dark relatively unexplored area of my site that has been around since 97.

I understand a number were sold via an agent in the US, but you'd probably have to wait until the owners die and their relatives get rid of all their old 'rubbish'

quick flick around on ebay and I did find THIS..

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Eimco-Coal-Machinery-Boring-Machine-Belt-Buckle_W0QQitemZ370209150922QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Men_s_Belt_Buckles?hash=item56322f57ca

I'm rather a fan of these old belt buckles. They were quite common when I first worked offshore and varied from supreme bad taste to minor 'works of art' . I have several, including various 'nodding donkey' ones and a wonderfully tacky one bearing the legend 'mans search for oil' which would embarrass a C&W singer... so perhaps I'll keep my eyes open for a 'rocker shovel' one

Those little Eimco models look very detailed little models.

I wondered about making some small moulds of some mining equipment but no where near as detailed as those, more soild really, as I have several Kilos of pewter in my garage, ideal for the job, just a matter of finding the time, mind you it's been in the garage for about 8 years now.
The management thanks you for your co operation.

A few more things that aren't available any more! It's a lot easier and more profitable to make jewellery and unlike men women keep buying stuff even though they have lots already. The photos are a bit ancient pre-digital.

Then there's some more if you click on the link Back to other items made from Cornish tin

The Eimco would be a nice model project to make in brass.
