Can't help wondering if the via ferrata in the Dolomites were made under similar conditions if 'safety'.... ::)

Without checking the link, I know that it has to be Mt Huashan. The path is something else. I'm very interested in certain via ferrata, El Caminito Del Ray in particular, but I can't see myself ever going onto the path at Huashan. Slightly worrying is that this is considered something of a Family pilgrimage to the Old temple atop the Mountain.

Personally, I think you're batshit crazy if you do it, but hats off to you if you return to tell the tale.

Hmm, El Caminito Del Ray, I kind of want to do that as it is, but I think they're due to start major refurbishment of it imminently.

Return flights from Leeds to Malaga for the weekend of the planned Derbyshire trip £67.

Rain, wind and grotty little holes in Derbyshire or sun, sand & sangria on the Costa del Sol.

I could be convinced!

Last I read, the Rescession had slowed up any plans for refurbishment. IIRC, it was scheduled for the back end of this year.

I am hoping to get to do it next year, I'll give a shout out nearer the time if anyone else fancies heading over for a weekend.
