CROs are covered by Police insurance.

The involvement of CRO divers at Gleison demonstrates that CRO personnel can operate in a professional mine rescue context.

Again being "devils advocate here"
Has the insurance cover ever been "tested?" and what is the cover? personal injury or third party only.

Since the CROs would be being used to meet an obligation under the regulations would they then be working in a professional capacity?

Just thinking.

My experience of CRO is that they function because they AREN'T a professional organisation operating in a professional context. I would have considerable reservations about the insurance issues, quite apart from anything else

And the lack of BA capability could be addressed by a series of courses with our friend Big Brian.

I didn't see that... you miss so much being away half the time. I don't see why not if the police involve them

We already have an arrangement to use the fire service as part of our rescue plan. Albeit as general labour that would be useful as members of a team.

Last course I did at Rhondda Mines Rescue was 14 years ago, they were mostly geared up for safe entry to confined spaces in those days.
The future of mines rescue (in its present form) seem limited?

From Wiki.

"On 10 April 2014, Reuters reported that the British government is to give UK Coal a ten million pound loan to help fund the closure of its two remaining deep mines. The company will carry out a managed closure of the deep mines by Autumn 2015 and will seek a buyer for its surface mines."

Would they pay me to stop building lamps?

A big bonus would be that I would stop posting about them on websites

Interesting point; If they close the deep mines, and sell off the surface mines, how are they going to pay off the loan??
Always remember, nature is in charge, get it wrong and it is you who suffers!.

Actually No, they would encourage you to take on an apprentice, a business loan, pay more tax, and export to .....

I suppose surface mine sales could balance the books?

Aye, they've cherry picked the Scottish Coal opencasts. I think they've taken on about five of them.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
