Are there any good mines to see in Colorado? I'll be there the beginning of June travelling through South Park and down to Durango.

Some video of deep shaft in utah.

Apparently there are quite a'lot, but many have collapsed, and have bears & stuff in depending on where you are.
Have Simon or Miles got any non british mine sections
hidden away?

For a country so rich in mining history, I have always thought the USA to be curiously lacking in the mine exploration department. There are so few websites considering the size of the country. Here is one... but I dont know if any of it covers Colorado or not.

Sadly not, I've not done any mines outside of the UK yet.

As well as Iron Miners you might also find Underground Miners of interest: http://www.undergroundminers.com/

Holiday last October on a Greek island. Just do a search on Kefala or Dhaskalio if you really want to see them again 🙂

Thanks for the links. I've got two mines on the todo list but they're both touristy ones so very much disneyfied I imagine!

Thanks, nice formations in there! - very dry? - then 😉 again it is warm...
AS for mines of colarado: there appears to have been much prospecting taking place, as it is in all the mining regions, though many of the mines are small.

Nice links, thanks again Nimrod. I'm always surprised by how safety conscious the Americans were even back then. Lots of Safety First signs and stuff.

I'm working on personal albums at the moment; where people can put images not related to UK mines/quarries, or images to upload to forum postings, so any non UK images could live in there.

But if there's demand (longer term) for non UK mines / albums to be added I'll definitely add it - only needs a country flag adding against the mine in the database.
