Just to illustrate the wealth of Park County in Colorado, here is a photograph of 65 tons of Silver Bullion awaiting loading at Platte River Depot (Station to you and me). There is another 10 tons of silver ore in the sacks in the background. Ore was often transported to lower areas as the smelters didn't work as efficiently at altitude - nearby Leadville is 2 miles above sea level!
