Anyone notice lots of new areas now becoming explorable with the dry weather? Any good discoveries?

The normally sumped adit at Bwlch y Plwm is bone dry and was at Pandora yesterday, the tunnel leading off from the car chamber the water looks manageable now but still a wetsuit job, has anyone explored that way fully?

Although I've not checked the next level down at Dinas Silica is probably accessible now.

Interesting.

Can anyone visiting please report on this. Also anything happening with the 'gateway' on the public road adjacent to the car park, and also, if you dont mind a five minute walk, the Public Right of Way which leads off to the mine on the left about half way up and opposite a track.

Will check out the 'gate' next time I'm passing.

Just in case anyone fancies doing the normally flooded level it requires a full wetsuit.

Roy, had a look tonight, no change, no gate. There is a misleading 'no trespassing' sign.

I think probably varies a lot, I was in Cults mine last Tuesday and the water had dropped maybe six to eight inches, visibly lower but not enough to make submerged areas accessible, it would have to drop about 20-30ft to make any submerged areas accessible, which obviously isn't going to happen, unless it stops raining for about five years or something.

We're a mere year too late to drop No.1 Shaft at Grove Rake.

First time I was down there, many years ago, the arch head of the 60fm level was just visible at the waterline.

Sadly now concrete-capped; no return trip in my lifetime :(

The water level at Cults drops a fair bit over the year, unless we get a monsoon I think it'll be lower than it's been for years by the end of October.

Thats remarkable, how low it is in the 2nd picture, must have been a very dry year, be interesting to see how low it gets this year if it stays dry.
