Yeah, or rolling a giant snowball into an entrance while someone is inside (you know who you are)

Something we know all too well Chris, they do know who they are!

I was also sent down a lovely little concrete pipe on the way to the Brandy Bottle Through Trip on the promise of there being an interesting feature at the bottom. Needless to say it was easier to get in than get out, and the feature had been mysteriously replaced by a total collapse about 12 feet in.

There is no love nower days...

Sounds like a bit of skulduggery afoot in Brandy Bottle Chris, although the bottom level does flood to the roof in bad weather & the whole through trip becomes 'very interesting' in the extreme (ask Dono for details 😮 ).

One more question though. I fancy a look at Old Moulds and Routh. Just want to be prepared as it is a long way. Does the walk to the mines involve steep hill climbing or is it fairly level? And what kind of distance from the car would we be talking?

Dean, Old Moulds is right next to a farm track just off the main road (at NY997026) where as Routh is about a 2km walk down a fairly level track to Great Punchard Gill (at NY960044), unless you have a 4x4 & permission, in which case you can drive right up to it. The entrance to Routh is also 'hidden' 😉

Jimbo, thanks for that info mate. Yes I know about the hidden bit 😉

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
