I suspect that's down on G is it?

It's probably just the working ledge at the back of the chamber, but I doubt anyone's gone there since the 1930s.

This is, if my memory serves me correctly, one of the chambers that's west of the Ch.34 incline and walled off on DE?

Feeling much inclined to silliness 😉
Also have a hankering to try my hand at building one of those peg and plank walkways around a chamber (although I think wire rope will be a far cheaper alternative to chain for the guide)
We have lots od suitable pegs.....

Mmmmh 😉
Next time one of you is in Cwmorthin could you measure the diameter of all those steel pegs that were part of the power station contribution?
If they aren't suitable there is loads of re-bar too.

Perhaps an estimate of tha gap we are going to try and span too? that way we can organise some planks (of some description) and chain/rope

Far more in favour of these old semi-suicidal methods than certain death on a SRT rope 😉
Or at least I am until we have tried it.....

Eeek, I'm not right good at estimating distances from these photos; I tend to take them all on F2.8 which foreshortens them somewhat...

Something between not very far and quite a long way ;)

Perhaps 50 to 60 feet maybe? Will make a note to have a proper look next time.

There's almost certainly nothing to see on the other side, G floor continues in the western direction for a few more chambers; but as an exercise in catwalk building...
