Certainly an interesting idea, although it might be a sensible idea to have a word with a structural engineer to find out what's going to happen if you keep on filling chambers with water and then emptying them again.
At the back of my mind is the idea that if you keep subjecting rock to repeated pressure loading and release, then it might cause failure.
The obvious example would be Cwmorthin, although that was only flooded once (for a long while) and then drained. I doubt there would have been much effect of either the flooding or the draining, but it's one thing draining a couple of floors over a fortnight (?) and another thing draining perhaps 5 floors over a few hours, repeated once a day.
