Looking at this and other photos, I can't believe how much the place has changed in under 30 years.

Fascinating pics, Graham: thank you for uploading them.

It's quite amazing how much the site has deteriorated since then. The loss of roofing slates will have exposed the walls to the elements and it can get rather unpleasant up there in the winter, to say the least. Do you know whether the slates were recovered by the owners or whether they just disappeared?

Presumably the drive shaft tunnels are no longer accessible?

The tunnels were not far down below the mills floor - just under the slabs. The tandem water wheel pit was another story the wheel being entirely under the floor in the bastion on which the mill is/was built. I havn't been there for a long time so I don't know the current situation. I've got some notes from somone written more recently somewhere - I'll look them up.
