Has any of you people been to this one, or any others in the area? - if so - is it worth visiting?

I havn't been, however in connection with Bowydd you mentioned some lakeland miners who came to NW to mine slate- one was called William Turner, who ran Clogwyn y Fuwch, and evidence of lake district mining can be seen here such as waste piled immediately outside adits.

Yeah... and there is also a image of a open chamber, which looked as if it may have been a cave working (where the slate was worked from the surface from a quarry to a chamber). There is also a Matty-Spedding tunnel found in Quarries around Coniston, and the fact that the is evidence of the slate being dressed underground is also similar to the method used in Cumbria. I think William Turner origianally worked at Walna Scar Quarry... which I'll be visiting soon
