..... And the other thing, at the risk of taking us further off-topic, were the number of folk who pulled their shirtsleeves up at the start of a meeting so you could see their watch. Evidently there seems to be some sort of horological hierarchy. Who knew, or more importantly, cares?

I must look out my fake Rolex, then. Cost me $55 at some long-forgotten past time in my wanderings. It says “Bollox” on the face, if you look close enough...

Don’t under-estimate the power of watches! I was just in Japan with No 2 Son, he having been awarded some tickets for the RWC through a scheme at his employers, and Tudor Watches were a sponsor. David Beckham apparently endorses them, as do the All Blacks.

I have one, as it happens (they are basically a poor man’s Rolex, the Skoda Scout to Rolex’s Audi All Roads) bit no one offered ME so much as a free pint on the strength of it. Mind you, we DID see one chap dressed as Henry VIII in the queue for the bus at Oita, so HE was “on message”..

Tbh, in an area as small, and as thoroughly picked over as West Cornwall, I’d rate the chances of finding viable deposits which can be worked by historically used techniques as round about, three parts of not much.

You should come to our caving club committee meetings. They average 3.5 hours. Christ knows how they sustain that level of waffle.

At this point I have to say, (and he wont get his head through the door afterwards), Stuey is an absolute oracle of knowledge, and indeed, usually hits the nail right on the head, even if it needs translating from Stueyese into English.

Interestingly they are allegedly going to try and drill above the water table and hence do not have to pump the mine dry!
Although apparently they have permission to do that!

what FP says is probably closer to the truth, if you put a finance hat on and actually cost it they need in the region of £100 mill to reach production, no bs either

I bet you all a prima pasty they cock around some more, make all sorts of press announcements, produce some pretty graphs and make media fuss.

If they do anything of note, beyond raise more funding and spend it very slowly on staff costs, I will be very surprised indeed

Primal pasty? I wouldn’t bet an Ovenfresh one on that...
