I'm going into Newbridge adit tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has been down it recently. Any advice. I'm not a seasoned mine explorer just enthusiastic. Not going alone.

If you stick to the right hand side of the tunnel you can do it without getting it in your wellies. Nothing to report in there is is all very stable and a pretty easy trip.

Mind the copper formations :)

And most of all enjoy it

I know there are other mines with great copper formations but I'm not sure where they are down ere in the South west. Can anyone suggest any spectacular ones?

Hello Angie

May I suggest that you join the Plymouth Caving Group who are very knowledgable with all the mines around the area. They have many access agreements in place, and unauthorised visits into certain mines could jeopardise those agreements. Please contact Big Dave of the Plymouth Caving Group whose website can be found by googling them. They have over 50 years experience with the local mines.

Regards Tin Miner

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
