Has anyone visited North Molton /Bampfylde? Is it possible to get underground?

It was in the 70s. I have a report somewhere. North lode. Shafts are choked and adits run in. Could be a digger though. Mineral collectors hotspot

visited a few years ago, the engine house/surface remains were being cleared by the research group, would be worth contacting them to see if a dig was being considered.
correct about the minerals! the tips were being excavated by jcb for saleable specimens (presumably the landowner), although nothing much is to be found there out of the ordinary for a copper mine

Visited last Sunday - fascinating mine and well worth a look although it is a shame that much of the site has been trashed with a machine. I can see why the site is popular with mineral types.

A return visit is on the cards to look at New Florence mine & tramway.

I've got a photo of an adit opening. Taken 2 years ago! It's not blocked but I never went in!
