Well having successfully removed from the landscape the buildings that composed the ore processing facility, I can inform one and all that DRS have started to demolish the Coarse Ore Bins. By the rate that the first bin was removed, it will not be very long before all is but a memory.

If it can't be grown it has to be mined.

It was dark and murky but I only saw one bin left today at 6ish

any chance one could get access and collect a few specimens , its been very hard knowing theres freshly disturbed material all over yet no doubt i wont be allowed to even look , ps did anyone see the bbc inside out program about the planned dredging? all arguments aside it still dosent make sense someone hasnt snapped up crofty.. a good long term supply of tin with far less controversy ,im still in favour of the dredging, but really for ten years production of not so many tons seems like a wasted effort when theres prospects like crofty ( and others ).

There's one two bins (fine ore) left now and plenty of specimens of broken concrete !

You get a good view of Camborne if there is such a thing ....

I remember in the CSM mag once was written "happiness is Camborne in your rear view mirror", unless that is you are heading to Redruth ... (quickly duck) 😉

nope not just rubble ages back i just went in there by the bins and picked up a few nice pieces before being told to go away theres tons of stuff there, same as all around where its being disturbed ,well worth a look and near certain to find some good stuff , thats the point tho less u know what to look for its all just rubble to most .

Unfortunately all the areas around the bins are fenced off and part of demolition zone. Considering what they have cleared and dumped around the bins there is nothing but broken concrete and rubble from the foundations of the mill. If you could get in the zone i'm not sure if there is anything left which would resemble ore. The pile of rubble next to the fine ore bins is getting taller. DRS must be nearly ready to start taking down the last two bins.

If it can't be grown it has to be mined.

Update:
The ore bins are no more, the last one come down either today or yesterday.

The last one was down yesterday, it has been recorded by the mine staff.

If it can't be grown it has to be mined.

ps what staff ? its done no more mines with any hope now ,gone ...a criminal act of vandalism a disgraceful waste of resources both human and mineral blown away cos it dont suit middle class tory britain , i have no hope for anything in this country, i just wish i was younger and fit id be gone from the uk its a shet hole with nothin now, id rather be french or german . so smash it all up bury it and forget it .

pop it up on youtube then! you better had before it gets squirrelled away by the hoarder brigade and you have to pay to view or something, there has been too much of that already with the underground photos of the modern Cornish mines
