Here's one (which I believe is not an air receiver) being used as a shaft collar.

is that the boiler that was in the yard at robos?

I don't know mate, it's been years since I was there and I have no plans to ever go there again!
At the time of my last visit there were two boilers, one was retained after the steam whim finished for the use of the capstan, probably as an air receiver. The other one was on Palmer's shaft for the steam whim that was there.

If that's the case it's probably that one that went for scrap. God knows if the other one is still there. The one that went for scrap was rescued and is now in safe hands, nevertheless it should be still situated where it came from.

This is one of the boilers taken in June 2008 when there was still a mine there, and not Robinson’s Wonderland :curse:
this one went to Harriet's shaft along with the winder drums in the photo.

That's the German Cornish boiler. It never did belong to Crofty but was only stored there. It came from Toldish tin & iron mine some years ago and was donated by South West Water Co. As you say Roy, that was taken out before Blunderland took over the site. For once a good thing.

There is of course another boiler at Robinson's which tends to be overlooked.
This is located in the building next to the Harvey's steam winder. I don't know if this was the original boiler for the whim engine or not, but I believe the bullet ended air receiver mounted on top was used to supply the winder when it was running on compressed air in the latter years.
