Does anyone from the Manchester area know why these items have been left on the corner of Queensway and Bolton road in the middle of Swinton ?
on the grass verge at the side of the road is a Hydraulic roof support for a seam of about 3' height there is also a vintage wooden coal dram complete with iron wheels and what looks like the shearing drum off a long wall mining machine
It could be coincedence but they are about 100mts from the site of the old Newton colliery site but i think that closed around the time of nationalisation
one thing is for sure if they don't fix them down , the Pikeys will have them away by weekend

No i'm crap with technology ,i could have take one on my phone but have no idea how to put it up on here
I was just driving past and when i pulled up at the light i saw them , at first i thought it was left over plant from recent road works but these are the real deal and i'm baffled as to why they are there
they are just sat on the ground , no attempt has been made to arrange them or build a bit of a feature with them there is just a couple of bits of wood under them , to stop them sinking in
If anyone lives in the area maybe they know why they are there , or could take a photo and upload it ?
there are more famous pits in the close vicinity , Wet Earth pit being just down the road and Agecroft is only about a mile away ?
