Well said, the idea was fine, but the implementation was a little off the mark. Camborne / Redruth isn't an area awash with money, so these prices will not encourage anyone especially with Pool market cafes at half the price only 5 minutes walk away on the weekend.
Stuey hit nail on the head, you can park in Pool market or Tescos (if you buy a pasty) for a few hours for free and walk the short distance to Heartlands.
The money spent on arty projects maybe was a little excessive, most people would have been happy with a bit of mine eqpt set in concrete.
I better shut up now before I turn into a Grumpy old git!
Is it safe to come out of the bunker yet?

Having put my prejudices for the processes and people behind the project aside for the moment, I must congratulate them on the quality of their work. Apart from bits of suspect euro-granite (well, you can't have it all), the materials choice and build quality is excellent. They have done a good job with the "main bit" IMO.

- yes I liked the new corrugated on the roofs as well.
The bits that are done are good, but some bits look uncompleted:

The area in front of the adventure playground.
The area in front of the toilets.
The frontage to trevenson road.
The winder house.
Some of the old equipment.

Also not sure if they wanted kids running top speed down their smooth red granite walled "leat". I suspect at the first slippage the H&S police will be putting barriers around this...

If they wanted to promote this project and keep at least a little credibility, why on earth did they advertise it like this?

No doubt another example of 'up country' advertising consultants who have never been within 200 miles of the county. I wonder if Big Brother IS watching us?

Hasn't taken long, saw a dumped trolley there the other day.

Anyway as the site is due to be officially opened by the Prince of Wales, its bound to close as all mines which have had official Royal visitors have closed !

If you are passing please bring yellow paint and help paint double yellow lines all along Dudnance Lane, to stop those parking on the road.
If it can't be grown it has to be mined.

The signs have reached a new orgasmic pitch. I wonder if there are salaries and a party to match?

I suspect for all the wealth that the Heartlands project is, there was a considerably greater part taken and squirreled away on the sly and blatantly by the various toadies on the project.

As with a lot of charities and 3rd sector types, there is a lot of finger pointing at "what we done", when it might be better considered what they took, whilst they were at it.

As with any socialist EU shite, it would have probably been better to get the local business rates to be spent on something other than county hall pensions for a few weeks and built something much better, without feathering the nests of such awful, socialist (as long as it's other people's money) vermin. :guns:

My latest info on Robinsons engine is that the original contractor went bust - if he was ever paid - a new contractor being appointed to recommence work on getting Robinsons moving again. Mind you with some of the crazy ideas for power, including using coal fired Cornish boilers, who knows what will happen. I will keep my spies on their toes!

I had a trip around Heartlands, it not finnished yet! The playground has some great reviews, the red river is not red!
For £35 million! This must reach new heights in 'creative accounting' Is it possible to see the accounts for the project from somewhere?
They have one of my pic's in a display, perhaps I should have charged for it, silly me could have asked thousands for it!
