I don't think this is the Snake gin - it looks to be on a relatively flat area and you can see the belland yard wall behind the horse walk whereas at Snake it drops out of sight below the hillock downslope. I think Jim R has previously suggested this as being somewhere on Long Rake?

I checked my old copy of Lead Mining in the Peak district, and the picture of Snake Mine gin in that book is quite different to the photo captioned as 'A Derbyshire Lead Mine'
if eight out of ten cats all prefer Whiskas
Do the other two prefer Lesley Judd ?
