I've had an email about Stanley Pit / Nuneaton Coal Mine.

Does anybody in the Midlands know if there are any surface remains still extant?

Apart from a flooded pit at the rear of Woodford Close, the last remains disappeared a few years ago (1970's) these being the railway sidings and engine shed. The platform of Stockingford station is barely visible. Nearby, in Kiln Close there is a buried drift, however this is not part of Stanley's.
There are several pictures in a book called 'the railways of Nuneaton and Bedworth' by Peter Lee.
