Hi All,

Need abit of help here, in the picture below there are some buildings on the left of the picture that are now demolished, any ideas please as to what they were. I was there yesterday and found some marked bricks from these buildings but cannot for life of me ID the buildings.

Nobody rush to post eh.... JUST JOKING... Mystery solved 😉 , these are the mines office blocks and the bricks we found were from the a demolished Chapel that were meant to be saved according to the local history lady! 😞

Hi

It took a bit of brain searching but I think I recognise the buildings you have in the picture.

The main green area id the old Cricket Field and the small building at the bottom was the Time & wages office. The building also house the deployment centre and the Medical Centre (Clinic)

The 2 long buildings are the pit Head Baths and the smaller building attached is the canteen.

Its usefull to take photos of the brick stamps and check that there is a example on the online brick index
