Evening all, how would I go about finding out employee names (and their role) for Auchengeich colliery in Scotland?

I am researching family history and, I know that my fathers grandfather (I think) worked at the mine in a (possible) managerial role. However details are a bit 'sketchy' and, sadly, no one alive in the family even knows/remembers his first name.

This would be before the disaster in 1959.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may have come across it already, but the National Mining Museum Scotland have produced a guide to researching family history in the coal mining industry.

https://nationalminingmuseum.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Tracing-Family-History.pdf

Well worth reading as it shows probably every possible place to look for information.

Colliery Yearbook for 1956 lists W. Monaghan & A. Pettigrew as manager & undermanager respectively.
Don't know if it's any help but it's all the management usually listed in the yearbook.
We inhabit an island made of coal, surrounded by a sea full of fish. How can we go wrong.......

https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/  ] relating to Auchengeich colliery; mostly relating to the fire at the pit but there may be some of interest here:
http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrsonlinecatalogue/details.aspx?reference=CB207&st=1&tc=y&tl=n&tn=n&tp=n&k=Auchengeich+colliery+&ko=p&r=&ro=s&df=&dt=&di=y

This include manpower/absenteeism and industrial relations records. The files are open access files

Detailed records of employment by the NCB are held by Iron Mountain on behalf of the government. I don't know the procedure for getting access but the Scottish Mining Museum gives the following contact details:

“Iron Mountain”
Rumer Hill Industrial Estate,
Rumer Hill Road,
Cannock,
WS11 8EX

Phone: 0844 264 1486

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
