Hi all.
Working in the caravan industry can mean long hours and sometimes even moving to other parts of the country. Having familiarise myself with predominantly slate and some mineral mines in and around Snowdonia I moved to the north east and was lucky enough to do a couple of mines and natural caves in and around Stanhope, Weardale Valley. Now I'm back home here in North Wales and just bought a hose in Mochdre..... I'm looking for suggestions of places worth exploring in and around Mochdre (done the limestone mine). All recommendations and offer to tag along on any evening jaunts much appreciated.:thumbsup:

Thursday Nighters :thumbup:

We are usually out on...erm, Thursday evenings 😉 and there will ususlly be a trip posted up on the forum. Having said that, there is nothing THIS week as we are all busy ::)

Look out for a trip next week though :thumbup:

You have 2 of the Thursday Nighters in Mochdre with you. Must be the IN place to be.... 🙂

Oooooh my god! That's never the collapsed tunnel we toiled in. What an amazing job.... well done everyone. Did the tunnel reach where you had hoped for.... did you find anything? PM me. Miss you crazy Geordies and almost impossible projects!

it certainly is... if you think that bit is an amazing job you should see the next section we cleared...

I'm one of the two Mochdre residents...only been here 4 yrs though, born n bred in Ffestiniog...and missing it 😞 ..anyway.
Don't think we've met over the years ?? But probably will now..

Hi Llion.
Actually we have met very briefly. We were in seperate groups and bumped into each other in Cwmorthin...... must have been about 6 years ago if memory serves me right! also bumped into Ian off here at about the same time. I live at the end of Bryn Marl Road (Mochdre is not that big). Definately up for an explore. Dont mind if its an easy little wander or a full on SRT epic. Up for anything really.... as long as it's an evening jaunt (i work most days). Let me know if you have anything on [email protected]
