Hi, I'm another newcomer to the party, a long time surface only mine person from Durham who has just started going underground again.

On that line, I know this is a bit late in the day but, is there anyone going underground at Nenthead this weekend who would let me tag along? Not SRT'd so more scrambling and crawling than vertical, but I do have a new outer suit that while not as clean as a couple of weeks ago is still obviously new and needs to be run in!

Poor you, forced to endure such hardships for your family

Thanks to Rich, had a good day, although it didn't exactly get off to a good start when yours truly left all of his underground gear on the drive at home... 😞
Thankfully all was saved by the loving wife who brought it to the Dales Centre in Stanhope which was about half way between Nenthead and Durham. On the positive side the cafe at the Dales Centre does a very nice Full English at a nice price - every cloud and all that.

Ended up doing a walk round Yew Tree lead/fluorite mine and then a trip underground at Harnisha Burn lead mine, more on this elsewhere when I get it writted. Wet enough at the entrance to wash the bottom of my oversuit clean - curse! Rich then went off & I had a potter about on surface above Harnisha Burn and then to the mine above Bolihope quarry, which I haven't worked out the name of yet.
