Er... you're welcome to the use the word 'caving' on here!

Some of us have been known to venture into caves occasionally, even though we tend to avoid them in case we suddenly sprout a bushy beard ;)

I've changed the thread title, incidentally!
Hello again darkness, my old friend...

Hi Graham, it's only on Mine Explorer that you get tarred and feathered for the "c" word in public! Any particular Derbyshire mine info you're after?

Not so, we have mellowed somewhat of late, even let a whole discussion on 'Fossil Passages' go recently, must be getting more c*ver friendly in my old age

Plus Marty loves c*ves 😉

Hi guys, sorry for the delay in replying, and thanks for the welcome. I am going to struggle with names for a while I guess. Who is "Marty", who is "Ian"?

I like to wander round in Derbyshire, trying to find the disused shaft and entrances to mines, working from information gleaned from here, UK Caving, or even books, recent weeks have seen me in Coombs Dale and Rye Dale, having a look at Enterprise mine, and would like to drop the reported 30m shaft on the hillside, anyone know whats down there, and been in the lower adit entrance on the same side of the dale, and looking at Shepherd mine. Cressbrook Dale, fancy doing Neptune, seen the video from AR, looks good, and over next couple of days will start up some individual threads. Been loking up Moss Rake, was looking for KittyCross Mine, found some stuff, the partly destroyed coffin level in the quarry floor, and the bigger larger more recent entrance with the dodgy looking timbers supporting some shaft backfill? As regards proper underground stuff, love Stoney Middleton, and the Bradwell Dale area, done Old Ash Mine, Moorfurlong Mine and Gentlewomans shaft, through Old Jants and out of Youds Level (and others, but got a memory like a sieve) All for now, as I say, would like to try to do individual threads otherwise gonna get very messy

Hi AR, no not done either, all though over the years have been here and there in Derbyshire, I want to try and concentrate on one particular area or dale, walking the surface and exploring below ground where possible. But of course any invites for any trips in any area assuming i'm free would be appreciated.
Cheers
