Hello,

Just a quick message to say that I am new to the forum and looking to get involved with as much as I can in the future.

I am local to North Wales, and have great interest in knowing more about old metal mines in particular (having studied Geochemistry and Hydrgeology) and also have a great interest in caving.

I was wondering if anyone had any good sites for learning more about the history of the workings situated in and around the North Wales area?

I look forward to getting aquainted with the forum and the members!

Cheers,

Ed

Hello Ed, welcome!

Quite a few members based in North Wales and certainly no shortage of places to vist so as rockchick says just keep an eye on the events section and see what comes up. I'm a relatively new member too but people are friendly and you'll soon find your feet! Where abouts are you?

hi Ed,
your in a great area for exploring , lots to see and do .
you'll find lots of people on here ready and willing to let you tag along , i am up your way quite a bit . just let me know wen your free and we can arrange something ..if you have somewhere in mind put it on the forum (it wont take long to get a trip sorted) most people on here don't need much of an excuse to go underground.
Excuse me while my carbon footprint kicks your eco-mentalist backside!

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
