Hi,

I am currently doing my family tree and know that my Great Grandfather, Robert Jones also known as Bob Sais, born in 1900 and died in 1953 worked in the slate quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog. I am sure it was in Llechwedd.
He had a terrible accident that damaged his leg and left him with a permanent limp. He was a patient in the Royal Infirmary in Liverpool following the accident. He definitely worked there after the second world war.
My Great, Great Grandfather William Griffith Jones lived in Cwmbowydd and was a Slate Quarry Inspector and worked there in the 1930's.
I was wondering if anyone had any information or pictures of William or Robert as I have never seen one...

Thanks,

Beth

Definitely worth checking with llechwedd themselves just in case? There is bound to be records somewhere!

Thanks for your advice. I've just drooped them an email because I thought the staff might have thought it an odd request if I'd rung them....
Thanks again

Have you tried searching the Gwynedd council archives?
Eg:
