Yes, I've been looking for a copy of this everywhere too. If there's a second copy available out there somewhere? 🙂

Just looking at my copy now, £17.50 original price, but mine cost £40, and that was a while ago. Not for sale though sorry, but I "might" be able to source one. Will post again later.

Sorry, no luck. Friends with the owner of Yr Hen Bost Bookshop in Blaenau, so gave her a ring to see if she had a copy, I get a lot of books from there. Sadly no, ...And she has a waiting list of three people wanting the same book :o Apparently it's difficult to get one, I do have a few duplicates of smaller books, shame I haven't got a spare copy of this one, there would be a bidding war :lol:

Jeees. Why you want it so badly?

I've got one somewhere. I found it coma-inducing and I work in the bloody place.

If it's so rare wouldn't it be lovely to get copyright permission to scan it as an electronic PDF copy so that people could get hold of it more easily? :smartass:

Sadly, the author passed away a few years ago. He lived in Blaenau Ffestiniog. He has a few more books that he's written, all to do with slate, and I have them all, apart from one, Rhiwbach: ei Chwarel a'i Phentref, which translated means, its quarry and village, unfortunately though, this is unpublished.

I got a copy when it first came out. At the time I was rather disappointed as I felt it did not live up to the standard set by Jones' earlier book on Haford Las (possibly my favourite slate quarry). That said still worth having on the bookshelves as it adds significantly to work by earlier writers such as Boyd.

It was book I could never enough copies to sell when it was new , the author passed away not long after it was produced.

If anyone has any contact details for his family I would look to get it reproduced in similar way to Isherwood's Cwmorthin but I don't feel it will be that simples

See if you can get the photos at higher than 8dpi.
