Gaffer tape over the vent holes.

I still use an Oldham T everyday at work. I will be sad when it dies as I do have a soft spot for them.

Must admit guys, that with a new Oldham lead acid, and making sure that the topping seal was clean, and thoroughly tightened we personally never had any problems of acid leakage.
I think these new Lithium Ion cells are completely superior to any of the other types, although, I have had one complete failure, as Simon R will be aware.
Can only assume that the voltage drop circuit, had failed.

Mine leaked due to a faulty casing. I used to put big self tappers with a rubber tap washer into the holes and take a X head screwdriver underground on long trips to vent the cells.

Good old days?

I used the type T's for a few years after the trusty "Wheat" type were no longer produced. Mine weeped electrolyte from the joint twixt the red case and the transparent window. For damp excursions, a small strip of gaffer tape over the vents backed up with a chunk of car inner tube kept the appropriate liquids on their right side of the case. Happy days indeed !

Hey Rick, I can make an imitation battery for you out of an old case with Li Ion cells and electronics for 5V in and 5V out so you can charge of the lead acid charger and run a lamp with a bulb not an LED.
Probably burn brighter longer.

I did similar for Corris a while back.

They even come in half size, don't feel the same though. Suppose one could add a bit of lead ballast to add a bit of weight.

Yes, that similar to what I was doing but using the blue MF cases. Looks alright.
