I haven't been mine exploring since about May because of a back injury but finally got out again and when charging my Sten I noticed its acting odd. Instead of the charger light going to green when fully charged, its sort of half green and half yellow and flickering.

Am worried about taking the batteries underground and was wondering if they could now be damaged as they have lain unused for over 4 months.

Testing them at home they seem okay but has anyone else had this happen when charging?

No bother with mine...
Could just be the charger light, can you borrow another charger to check??

No Kate I dont know anyone local with one. The light works okay but I noticed the other day in Rampgill, it doesnt seem as bright. Even my mates Raptor was brighter. THink its time for new batteries maybe.

Hi Dean

That's not good. Pop it back to me if you want it looking at. It sounds like a battery issue, LiIon doesn't like being stored for long periods of time.

Thanks Simon. Should I just send the batteries or the lamp too? I was thinking of just upgrading anyway to the dual capacity batteries. I love the lamp and would hate to have to use anything else underground 🙂

That reminds me, I must scrawl names on my batteries so I can alternate their use...
