Received this today and thought it might be of interest to Sten users.

This is prototype stage, and not really relevant unless you routinely submerge the whole lamp, but people who routinely do very wet mines or caves, or dive, have commented that a fully waterproof and rather more solid battery pack would be welcome.

The cable shown on this prototype exits the case at right angles, production versions will exit in a straight line at the end of the case. And it's likely that it will be a different cable type with a different connector as well as an option for a direct cable run from lamp to battery.

Early days yet, but it will be bckwards compatible with existing lamps and chargers.

I would certainly be more convinced to buy a StenLight if it had a decent battery box; this has been my main concern with them as I frequently do very wet/ muddy caving trips as well as digging in faily unpleasant conditions...

I look forward to any updates on the subject 🙂

I look forward to what you come up with. Your remote controlled flashgun device was genius!
