Check out this article.
I haven't had time to explore this new resource yet, but looks like it could be of interest to 'the likes of us' ;D

Thanks for posting - within a few minutes of searching, I came across an 18th century plan of Peak Cavern (https://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/onlineex/kinggeorge/a/largeimage77994.html), so I wonder what else of interest is there?

Just found this 18th century image of a Welsh mine, listed as near Pont Aberglaslyn - anyone got an idea as to which one?

Think it may actually be called Aberglaslyn....?
There are two adits that you can walk into straight off the main road. I'll check out photos etc later on....I went there with Wyn a few years back. He'll remember I'm sure
There is also another collapsed adit a few yards further up the road....its been oozing ochre for years.

The photo collections are good too. So Much stuff. They are boasting over 40,000 topographical maps.
Culmination of a 7 year project....to date.

Looks like another late night tonight

There's an image here that is described as a tin work near Truro.
It appears to be a collection of scenes from lots of different parts of a mine, crammed into one small image, and making no practical sense at all.

Interesting all the same though

It appears that these machines were operated by naked children on loan from the workhouse.
I’ve never really understood the significance of using cherubic characters in illustrations from this time.
