Down in Cornwall, we have in circulation a CD with 6" maps on. Granted, these were by a bonafide mining historian but I was wondering where I might be able to get a set of Devon maps, or even beyond.

old-maps.co.uk is down at the moment and I would rather not be spunking a huge amount of cash at OS.

I wonder if there is a resource or a CD in circulation that I could continue my research with.

I'm specifically looking for sheet 98 SW (Devon) at the moment.

Try your local County Records Office.
I got a goodly chunk of North Wales 6 inch OS (1915) with all known mines at the time pecilled on from the Local Records Office here.
Only rouble is massive information overload, most of it useless and they are taking forever to work through

There's a CD available of the 1899 25" maps for Derbyshire, produced by a company called Digital Archives. They only cover part of the UK, but they're a lot cheaper that old maps! Try a search online, you may well find that someone does the map you want at a reasonable price.
