From the Independent - A new material made from a single layer of tin atoms which would rival graphine with 100% electrical conductivity. At one atom thick I don't know what effect, if any, this might have on the Cornish Tin industry if things came to pass.

Probably very little, if it came to pass then computers etc would probably use less tin.
