Does anyone know when we will be able to book for this year? For various reasons I'm on a rather tighter budget than usual and need to plan my trips/weekends away a bit more 😞

I'm sure it's all in hand, just a rough idea of when costs and things will be available etc.

In the post shown below Roy was intending to run the trips, I am sure that he will comment soon.
I do remember that Welsh Mines did not feel able to run the trips.
The home website gives detales of the venue etc.

On the 10th November the Trust was given full membership of NAMHO and will be organising the underground trips on the NAMHO 2013 field meet.
The intention is to offer trips in locations different to those back in 2002. Places such as Alltycrib, Henfwlch, Brynyrafr, Camdwrbach and a few others occur.
Of course certain old favourites such as Ystrad Einion will also be on the list as well as some others if access can be arranged.

In reply to your question I asked Peter Claughton via the mining History forum his answer is as follows

"The details will be up there shortly - go to www.namhoconference.org.uk

Costs - registration etc will be much the same as last year.

Peter"

Had a message last night to say the booking details had been added to the website, I've had a look but can't see them?

Click on the link then the conference is on the banner to the left.
Peter is using a site at Stirling University rather than NAMHO's own pages? :smartass:

Difficulties downloading the booking form.

My attention has been drawn to the above difficulties.
I don’t think that it can be sorted server side by the NAMHO organisers, a pdf document is a pdf document and that’s that.

The issue relates to compatibility issues between the pdf document reader and ether the platform or web browser.

If you cannot download the booking form, please follow these instructions:

Mouse over booking form hyperlink
Right button "Save target as"
Save to your machine
Open it on your machine

I had no trouble with the form?

Re: messages on the mining history mailing list regarding camping, I decided to book the on site accomodation as there didn't seem to be a preferred campsite at this stage. It will be a change not to camp but perhaps a pleasant one as the acommodation does sound good

I have to say I'm looking forward to some of the trips, I've wanted to see the Ystrad Einon waterwheel for a long time. I understand one books trips later on once one's conference booking has been made.

You'll miss the karate demonstrations, or is that the reason you decided to get a room

Got my booking confirmation back today, I am delegate 001

Last time I achieved this was 2007 in the Tamar.

Now a nice little contribution to Cambrian Mines Trust and who knows?

Not quite accurate Mike.
The underground venues have all been published. However some permissions have yet to be obtained.
Dates and times have yet to be confirmed.
Underground meet leaders will organised shortly, I myself will be doing this and as you may remember from Nenthead Mike, I had several offers of help from SCMC members when I raised the subject.
I have also had offers of help from elsewhere.
Cambrian Mines Trust are only organising the underground, so obviously surface meets and the conference are outside of the scope of my terms of reference.

I'm sure I will have some company, some other WCMS chaps have already expressed their intention to attend.

I have every confidence that Roy will have someone organised to take me somewhere interesting, the provisional trip list already looks promising

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
