Can someone advise if anyone has re-created the actions of 1850s (..ish) lead miners carrying out their work..... and then filmed it?
I'm looking for anything that might show hand-drilling, picking etc etc.
Any help or contacts would be much appreciated.

I believe that Brian Woodall in his guise of t'owd man has been filmed drilling and blasting.
I can't remember who filmed him, it could have been Dave Webb?

If it wasn't Dave, it was Ralph Johnson. Can't for the life of me remember what the name of the film was though....

I have a copy of the shotfiring footage, it was me that did it (the shotfiring, not the filming) but that's all.
As you may be aware, Ralph passed away recently. I could inquire of his son but at present I'm very reluctant to do so.

I'll email Dave and ask him, that's probably going to be the quickest means of finding out....

Many thanks for the replies.
Please don't bother Ralph's son at this time.
Very grateful for the input.
Cheers, Cris

I spoke to Brian Woodall today at the Mining Museum and it was a Ralph Johnson video that showed him 'at work'.

Nick.
