The little Austrian lamp I sell on CapLamps uses a LiPo battery, and that's fully CE certified, and in the words of the Chinese lamp vendor who used to spam me "it no cause an explosion yet"...

I assume everyone here using these cells in series balances them regularly?

This poses an interesting question. (My lamps charge with a balance charger, hence a 'third lead')

How do lamps like Stens and Scurrions that use batteries in series maintain balance? Do they have a 3 terminal plug for charging or something?
I have seen quite a few but never thought to look for anything like this.

I have no idea what the designer lamps use (way too rich for my blood).

It's entirely possible to have a 2 pin charge lead, and yet balance the cells with a battery management PCB. They are usually integrated into packs.
