Took a couple of people through Cigga on Sunday and there have been some significant collapses.
The first I came across was on Middle Level (see plan) at the site of 3 ore chutes/box holes. I believe this was reported in a post a little while ago.
A stull has given way and has left a pile of loose stuff and timber hanging up overhead. It is navigable with care but it's recommended to use the footwall drive route to the south; it's much safer.

The other bad collapse is at the end of the big stope (seaward end) which gave an exit to the beach level or Bottom Level adit. Again some old timberwork has given way and the route is almost blocked. Although it could possibly be sqeezed through, the likelihood of disturbing stuff is very high. The ground around is poor and unstable and on one side it's hanging death.
A pity really as this used to complete the round trip.

One final thing is the ladder which takes you from the big stope up into Middle level; its hanging in larrups, with a missing rung and one partially rotted side. Be very very careful, it could go quite easily. Might have to see if we can have a whip round to get some timber and rebar to make up a new ladder.
