As I understand it the images are designed to be very temporary. Nothing at all was painted directly onto the rock; and I seem to recall being told they were pasted up with a mixture of slate dust and water?

Well worth a watch!

There's a thread on here somewhere about the installation in Braich Goch - I believe the art can be removed quite easily.

Can anyone identify the untopping right at the start of the video? If it's been recently filmed, I suspect it's Maenofferen?

I liked it, some great pics as well.
It reminds me a little of some of the colliery painted memorials I see (have seen) on walls dotted around.
I don't see this as being any different to the 'old graffiti' on the walls etc. It's just folks expressing themselves. And as long as it's not destroying or harming anything; and it's not everywhere I can't see a problem.
I know I'm not from North Wales but locally where I live & travel I do see a number of new pit village memorials (usually winding wheels) going up quite alot; and usually the old mines there have been landscaped and you wouldn't know anything was there.

I like how they have shown photos of the people - it kind of reminds you that there was people working there, and generally people can more easily connect with other people (as opposed to buildings).

I see this has a different type of memorial which I like.
😉
I went in a mine once.... it was dark and scary..... full of weirdos

Absolutely fantastic. A lot of work has gone into that video & the result is just brilliant.

I like the idea behind it and think it was quite good just was a little bit dubious after the whole debarcle with the guys spraying graff and claiming that was art last time

liking that video a lot, have no problem with the pictures either, they are not etched on the walls and will weather eventually. nice to see the guys still doing the job being represented in this way, there tends to be a lot of hand wringing about how things are not done 'properly', the way the old men did it, anymore.

Definitely hear what you're saying Dangerous, I was really annoyed at that spray can toting non-entity and his 'art' coming to Dinorwic :guns: :guns:

This is quite different though. And I think the images are really stunning.

As an aside, if Mark at Corris Mine Explorers was involved you can be 100% certain it was done with complete sympathy to the surrounding.

This is from his Facebook page:

They are big rolls of paper, in sections and go up just like putting up billboards. Using a paint roller this then builds up the picture. Because we have stuck them to the rock face with just slate dust and water no damage is done to the quarry. At anytime I can remove them with a hard brush but I hope you and others will like them.

I noticed the secondary blast/shock to the left of the brown stuff, I assume shock travelling to a fissure in the rock at this point?
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

I was wondering about that - I was at Talysarn Hall in the first week of December and did not see anything then. Either I was incredibly unobservant (not impossible, going on form) or they went up after then.
Been injured while at work and are not to blame?

Get over it.
