...I got back to Nenthead car park yesterday, after a nice little potter in Smallcleugh to Bog Shaft, to find that some kind person had sought to alleviate the bleak white exterior of my car with some choice seasonal floral decorations.

Alas I wasn't able to fully appreciate the handiwork of this kind soul because of my inconsiderate failure to return to the surface while daylight still remained, something for which I am greatly saddened.

I hope that, should this mystery floral arranger wish to continue their great works, that it would be when the longer days will give me the opportunity to properly view and take in the majesty of their opus. I look forward to the arrival of spring flowers with fervour. :flowers:

I've had this done a few times as well, in the Summer with wild flowers.

Seen it before myself, have a fairly good idea who the culprit might be.

That must have been a surprise, but a pleasant one by the sound of it.

At least it's better than the surprise that sometimes awaits on returning to the car at the Cwmorthin car park. :curse:
If the phone didn''t ring, it was probably me.

There's an all-male group of Cumbrian doggers well known for hanging around secluded northern car parks. Rumour has it they like to pretty up the place with flowers before going at their deviant ways.

Try checking your wiper blades for bite marks. 😉

You must have just missed Me the Mrs and my old man ...we headed up there for a long needed mooch ...
My breath was truly taken by some of the pack walling and stacked deads we saw ...Sadly i only had my rubbish camera with me ...which has resulted in a expensive shopping spree into Penrith to purchase a tripod ...Needless to say a return visit is in order before we return home next weekend (We are caravanning in Kirkoswald over the festive break)

Wonder IF anyone will leave us a floral present ???

Fellow art lovers, I am pleased to report on another masterpiece from the mine exploring community's specialist in transient art.

Returning to my car last Sunday after a damp time in Carrs and Rampgill my eyes lit up on seeing how it had been transformed from one of the seemingly endless line of soulless clones that modern cars are, into a beautiful and thought provoking work of art.

The work, an admirable use of materials close to hand, depicted the uncomfortable relationship between disposable consumerism and an older more natural way of life. I thought the use of toilet paper as a depiction of the ribbons normally adorning a wedding car was a brilliant choice, combining the symbolism of marriage with the inherent lack of durability of the material.

Alas I failed to record the spectacle, using the tired and feeble excuse of being so excited that I forgot to take a picture, and transient art being transient it didn't survive the journey home.

As ever I wait on the next offering from the mystery artist with bated breath...

We've had a few trips into Killifreth and witnessed some dogging related goings on. I have a feeling the gippo in the manky camper van is not actually a gippo, but a dogger.

Chasewater is quite famous for dogging.

The last time I properly decorated someone's car, I ended up being apprehended by the police following a hasty retreat; and then had to give a statement a few days later concerning someone who was being charged with attempted arson. 😮
Hello again darkness, my old friend...

They sound like quite kindly folk. I wonder if I left some filler and paint next time I park there would they do the good deed :flowers:
